FASHION FRIDAY: Week Five – DENIM

denim is one of the purest staples of fashion, and one of those trends that always has something exciting on the horizon.

this spring, there are a lot of bold looks in denim hitting the stores, and also some flattering styles that i think a lot of you are going to LOVE. i love them ALL.

let’s start with printed denim. this look isn’t for the shy, as prints of these kinds demand attention. you will be seeing camouflage, tribal, leopard, and snake-skin prints on your favorite designer jeans, making a bold statement. be sure to pair these with neutrals and solids to let the jeans be the center of attention.

colored denim is probably my favorite of the spring denim trends, as you can choose from any color variety you feel. red, blue, mango, lemon, lime, sunset, purple and more. i love the florida-esque colors of the spring too, and you can make these work for daytime paired with a t-shirt, or mash it up with funky prints and accessories for a trendy nighttime look. want to add some sparkle? joe’s jeans has a coated denim this spring that kicks it up with a metallic look. AWESOME with a spring sweater.

the boyfriend jean. still hot this year (thank GOODNESS). raid your boyfriend’s closet (or your brother or best guy friend’s closet) to get the loose fit, low rise, and cuffed hems that make boyfriend jeans so cool. don’t have a guy friend? no worries. there are plenty of boyfriend jeans available at your favorite denim bar (we love Gil’s on western).

classic – this denim trend never goes out of style. this spring we’re seeing the slim boot cut, second skin jeans (for the long legged girls), dark skinnies (GREAT with heels or boots), and my favorite – the low-rise. you can’t go wrong with any of these as long as you feel good in them.
